I’ve moved to Colorado!
It’s been a busy couple of months. I’ve been preparing to move from Michigan to Colorado. I’m now mostly settled in and here to write about it!
Microsoft Build
During May 7th – 10th I went to a conference called Microsoft Build. This is where Microsoft displays their upcoming technology, discusses their previews, shows the potential business usage for their technology, and allow Software Engineers from all over to come and directly ask them questions.
Here are some of the things I’ve found to be interesting/useful
A Research & Development Sabbatical
During my time at the Detroit.Code conference I went to a few Azure presentations. All were given by Jennifer Marsman. The one that got my attention is the Text Sentiment Analysis API that Azure offers. It helped Microsoft build a dashboard of sentiment around the Xbox Twitter account and detect when issues happened.
During mid February until the end of March I took a “sabbatical” from my team to join an R&D team. The focus was on Natural Language Understanding (NLP)
I had to have %100 full attention to the project while I’m on the team. No messages, no emails, no meetings.
Lazy Productivity
Definition: Passive and simple active things you can do to be more productive.
I’ve started the process of lazy productivity ~2 years ago with my Google calendar. I wanted the ability to organize my week in a way that I can look at my phone and know what is there to do next. A simple active thing that can enable me to be passive for the rest of the week.
New Blog
Welcome to my blog.
I wanted to create it so that I can share my technical and philosophical thoughts. Think of it as a portal to my thoughts, where the thoughts are persisted.
I don’t intend to post frequently, only periodically as I find interesting topics, share areas of expertise, or listen to new audio books.
Enjoy.
